We are seeking an experienced and people-focused HR professional to join us as Deputy HR Services Manager and play a key role in shaping the employee experience at Loughborough University.    

This is an exciting opportunity to manage and develop a team delivering high-quality, employee-centred HR services across the employee lifecycle, while driving continuous improvement, supporting organisational priorities and helping to create an inclusive and positive experience for our employees and managers.  

As Deputy HR Services Manager:

  • you will work closely with colleagues across Human Resources and the wider University to ensure our people processes are efficient, compliant and customer focused.  
  • you will manage a supportive team, provide specialist guidance and coaching on complex employee matters and help enhance the HR services function through data insight, process improvement and technology. 

About the Role 

Reporting to the HR Services Manager, you will: 

  • Manage, coach and develop a high-performing HR Services team 
  • Deliver an excellent, employee-centred HR service across the employee lifecycle   
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex HR queries and employee matters     
  • Use data insights to drive continuous improvements and inform decision-making
  • Support key university processes and committees, including Academic Promotion
  • Work collaboratively across HR to improve processes, optimise systems and enhance the employee experience
  • Promote equity, diversity and inclusion in all that we do 

About You 

If you are passionate about delivering excellent HR services, developing high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement, we would love to hear from you. 

You will bring significant HR experience gained within a large and complex organisation, alongside proven experience of managing and developing teams.  You will have strong operational HR knowledge across the employee lifecycle, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to use data to improve services and inform decision making. 

You will be a proactive and collaborative problem-solver with up-to-date employment law knowledge, experience of driving service improvements and a commitment to creating an inclusive and positive workplace.

What you'll earn (you won't find "competitive salary” written instead of a figure on our watch!)

Management and Specialist grade 6 from £35608 to £46049 per annum. Subject to annual pay award.
