We're The HR Guru, and over the last three and a half years we've helped more than 100 businesses across the UK stop dreading their HR problems and start actually solving them. We provide HR consultancy to small and medium sized businesses who don't need someone in-house.
And now we're looking for another HR Guru to join the team on a permanent part time basis.
We're a fun, down to earth team who work remotely but love regular co-working team days to share ideas, film some content and genuinely just work side by side. And there's tonnes of room for growth as we continue to expand.
This is a part-time role working 4 or 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, with the exact hours to be agreed with the right individual. The salary is £40,000 full-time equivalent, and you'll work remotely while being based in the Yorkshire region.
You'll also get unlimited annual leave and a workplace that is properly tech-first. If there's a slick system that can make life easier for you or our clients, we'd rather use it than watch you battle with a spreadsheet that should have been retired in 2009.
β You get a strange amount of satisfaction from untangling a messy grievance
β You've guided managers through difficult disciplinaries, awkward conversations and those “you're not going to believe what's happened…” phone calls – and come out the other side with your professionalism and sense of humour intact
β You know your CIPD Level 5 from your Level 7, and you know UK employment law well enough to give clients confident, practical advice when they need it
β But you're not someone who thinks great HR begins and ends with legislation
β You're just as comfortable getting stuck into a new HRIS as you are coaching a nervous first-time manager through their first 1:1
β You're curious about technology, you look for smarter ways of doing things
β You're confident working on systems both day to day and implementing and advising for our clients. If there's a better way of doing something you'll flag that and make it happen
β You appreciate the benefits of AI but won't rely on it unnecessarily, your superpower is your knowledge and experience
β You understand that our clients want a HR partner, not a lecture, but you're also not afraid to stand your ground (whilst being commercially focussed)
β You think differently about HR and aren't afraid to create content to prove it
β Being the go-to HR person for a portfolio of brilliant, varied clients across the whole employee lifecycle
β Leading on the tricky stuff: disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance, consultations
β Writing contracts, handbooks and policies people might genuinely read
β Getting stuck into HR systems, data and process improvements
β Shaping onboarding, engagement and development that people notice
β Being the calm, credible voice in the room when things get complicated
β Spotting the opportunities to do even more for clients (and for us)
Full time equivalent of £40,000 per year
Role is 20 or 25 hours (tbc depending on individual)
This is a paid in-house role, not freelance.
β Remote with opportunities to co-work once a month and meet clients in the Yorkshire area
β Latest tech to work on
β Unlimited holiday each year
β Career growth and development
