HR Assistant

12month Fixed Term Initially – Based in Kingsteignton

37 hours per week, full time

NJC Grade D (Torbay) - £25,583 to £25,989 per annum

What You’ll Do

Working as part of our People Team, you'll provide day-to-day support to colleagues and leaders while gaining experience across a wide range of HR activities, including:

  • Supporting colleagues throughout the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to offboarding.
  • Supporting recruitment and safer recruitment processes, ensuring safeguarding, compliance and statutory requirements are met.
  • Assisting with family leave processes, including maternity, paternity, adoption and other family-friendly policies.
  • Helping to deliver wellbeing and colleague engagement initiatives that support a positive workplace culture.
  • Maintaining accurate HR records, systems and documentation.
  • Providing advice and guidance on routine HR queries, escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Supporting a variety of HR projects and initiatives that benefit our schools, colleagues and communities.

 

We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:

  • Is inspired by our mission to deliver Flourishing Futures for All and is committed to making a difference in children's lives through exceptional people practice.
  • Ideally holds CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent) or is working towards a professional HR qualification. We would also welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate a genuine interest in HR, strong potential, and a commitment to developing within the profession.
  • Enjoys working with people and building positive relationships.
  • Is enthusiastic, proactive and keen to learn.
  • Has excellent organisational skills and can manage a varied workload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Has strong communication skills and a colleague focused approach.
  • Is committed to continuous learning, development and improvement.
