At One YMCA, we know that great services start with great people.
As we continue to grow across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, attracting, recruiting and retaining talented colleagues is critical to achieving our ambitions. • Develop engaging recruitment campaigns using social media, advertising platforms, talent pools and professional networks.
• Manage relationships with recruitment agencies and external partners, ensuring quality, value for money and access to suitable talent.
• Monitor agency usage and identify opportunities to reduce recruitment costs through direct sourcing and alternative attraction methods.
• Lead onboarding and probation processes to help new colleagues settle successfully into the organisation.
• Promote inclusive recruitment practices that support Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging.
• Use recruitment and retention data to identify trends and improve recruitment outcomes.
• Support job evaluation, role design and workforce information processes.
About you
We're looking for someone who is passionate about recruitment and enjoys building relationships, solving problems and delivering excellent service.
You'll bring:
• Experience leading recruitment campaigns from attraction through to appointment.
• Experience working with recruitment agencies and external recruitment partners, ensuring effective and cost conscious recruitment solutions.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment best practice and candidate attraction methods.
• Experience partnering with managers to develop effective recruitment solutions.
• Excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A commitment to inclusive recruitment and positive candidate experiences.
• The ability to use data and insight to drive improvement and inform decision making.
Why join One YMCA?
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a visible impact within a growing charity that is committed to investing in its people and culture. You'll work with managers across the organisation, help shape how we attract and welcome new colleagues, and play an important role in supporting our ambition to grow and strengthen our workforce.
You'll join a supportive and ambitious People Team where your ideas and expertise will help influence the future of recruitment, onboarding and colleague experience across One YMCA.
If you're looking for a role where you can build relationships, attract great talent and make a genuine difference to colleagues and communities, we'd love to hear from you.
Please note that we will be reviewing applications and conducting interviews on a rolling basis. We encourage you to apply as early as possible, as we may close the vacancy once a suitable candidate has been appointed.
Due to the nature of the services provided, a Basic DBS will be required, as will a full driving licence.

YMCA is a global movement that empowers communities and young people to build a just, sustainable, equitable and inclusive world. Founded over 160 years ago, the movement gave birth to basketball, volleyball, Father’s Day, and inner city hostels, and has grown to be the world’s largest youth organisation with over 50 million members in 121 countries.
"One YMCA" represents the movement in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, and is now one of the largest YMCA’s in Europe. Our focus is supporting vulnerable individuals and families to develop the skills and confidence they need to progress towards independence, so they are able to live their life to the full. Our approach is holistic and so we offer a wide range of services that include Housing, Community, Family Support, Youth and Children’s Activity Programmes, Early Years Education, and Specialist Therapeutic Support.
In the last five years, we have trebled our income to £40m, and more than doubled our colleague numbers to over 750. We are ambitious to continue to serve even more people and plan to grow our impact across our four counties, whilst also playing a growing role globally in what 14,000 other YMCAs are seeking to achieve globally through our shared 2030 Vision.
