People Development & Wellbeing Manager

Job Description

✨We’re looking for a People Development & Wellbeing Manager to help strengthen staff development, wellbeing, engagement and reflective practice across No Limits✨

Our Charity

No Limits is the leading youth services charity in Southampton, supporting children and young people in the city and across Hampshire and Dorset.

At No Limits, it is important our staff and volunteers reflect, represent, and have experience of the challenges faced by the children and young people we support. We are proud of and appreciate our many staff and volunteers who use their own lived experience to support the children and young people they work with.

With this in mind, we are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in all aspects of our work and organisational culture – and when recruiting, it’s important to us that we continue diversifying our staff and volunteer teams, with children and young people at the centre of everything we do. You can learn more about our DEI approach here.

When we talk about talent, we value the transferrable skills and experiences you can bring to No Limits, whether through work (in the same or a different sector), volunteering, or personal experiences. To make sure we get the best talent on our team, we are open to and actively encourage applications from all backgrounds and sections of the community, including diverse ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and neurodiverse individuals.

Your Role

We are looking for a People Development & Wellbeing Manager to strengthen how No Limits supports, develops and engages its staff. This is a new role that will help build the confidence, capability, wellbeing and reflective practice needed for staff, lead workers and managers to work well and respond confidently to complexity and challenge.

You will lead a more structured approach to learning, workforce development, wellbeing, reflective practice and colleague engagement. This will include helping managers and lead workers develop their confidence, creating regular spaces for shared learning and reflection, and using feedback and insight to shape meaningful action that supports staff wellbeing and organisational learning. You will work closely with People Operations, service leaders, managers, lead trainers, clinical supervision colleagues and other internal and external contributors to help create a clearer, more joined-up approach to staff development, wellbeing and support across No Limits.

The role will be hybrid, with at least half of each week to be worked across our two sites in Southampton.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating No Limits’ approach to learning and workforce development, including learning needs analysis, development planning, learning resources and evaluation.
  • Developing and delivering regular facilitated learning, reflection and development spaces for staff, lead workers and managers.
  • Supporting manager and lead worker capability, including supervision, feedback, direct conversations, accountability and reflective leadership.
  • Leading an evidence-led approach to staff wellbeing, using colleague feedback, workforce insight and other relevant data to identify priorities.
  • Coordinating reflective practice, action learning, coaching or external support where this forms part of the agreed staff support and development offer.
  • Leading the People Champions Group and colleague feedback activity, making sure staff voice and insight are used to support meaningful action.

Please see the job description on our website for further details about the responsibilities of the role.

We are committed to making a difference in the lives of the children and young people we work with, and as such, you must show a willingness to demonstrate commitment to the values and behaviours which flow from the No Limits ethos. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is paramount.

We particularly welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and those who have had experiences similar to the young people we aim to support. We are committed to creating a diverse environment where people can be their authentic selves, where their experiences and opinions are valued, and we are all open to learning from each other.

As part of our team, you’ll receive a comprehensive induction and access to learning and development opportunities relevant to your role, supporting your ongoing growth.

You’ll have the essentials of:

  • Experience in one or more relevant areas, such as learning and development, organisational development, staff wellbeing or engagement.
  • Confidence designing or delivering learning, reflective practice, workshops or facilitated group activity.
  • Ability to support manager and lead worker development, including supervision, feedback, accountability and team practice.
  • Experience using feedback, insight or data to identify development, wellbeing or engagement priorities.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and judgement, including handling sensitive themes appropriately.
  • A commitment to No Limits’ values, mission, equality, diversity and inclusion.

You may also have:

  • A qualification in people management or development, coaching or another relevant area.
  • Experience using coaching approaches with staff or managers.
  • Experience working in a charity, children and young people, health, social care or education setting.
  • Experience leading staff engagement activity, colleague feedback methods, employee voice groups or culture projects.

Please let us know if we can support you with any reasonable adjustments at any point prior to, during or after the selection process, such as access arrangements, flexible working, or a suitable place to pray.
