Learning and Development Business Partner

Job Description

Oxford City Council is entering one of the most exciting and significant periods of change in its recent history. Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) will reshape how councils across Oxfordshire work together, creating new ways of delivering services and new opportunities for our people. With this change comes the need to support our managers and staff so they feel confident, informed and ready for the future.

As our Learning and Development Business Partner, you will play a central part in helping the organisation prepare for this journey. This is a role for someone who loves working with people, believes in unlocking potential and enjoys creating learning that genuinely makes a difference.

You will design and deliver engaging workshops, coaching sessions and learning resources that help colleagues understand and prepare for the change, build new skills and stay resilient. You’ll work directly with managers, teams, Change Champions and senior leaders to help them feel equipped and supported. No two days will be the same, you might be delivering a management development session in the morning and running a wellbeing workshop or career development session in the afternoon.

You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive People Team that cares deeply about developing others and creating a great workplace culture. If you enjoy variety, connection, creativity and having a visible impact across an organisation, this role offers all of that, and more.

We pride ourselves in being a welcoming team and embrace diversity and would welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Passionate about diversity? You can even join one of our Staff Networks and help to influence the way we support our colleagues.

What you'll earn (you won't find "competitive salary” written instead of a figure on our watch!)

G8: £48,888 per annum full time (pro rata for part time).
Rising to £50,054 on completion of succesful probation period.

What you'll receive in return (Benefits)

29 days holiday, LGPS, subsidised leisure membership, flex scheme (where appropriate), employee benefits scheme, post-probation pay increment.
