Senior People Partner (12 month FTC)

Job Description

Role Overview:

The Senior People Partner will act as a strategic business partner to the Chief Finance Officer, Chief Commercial Officer, Service Management Director and General Counsel, as well as acting as HR for HR.

The role will support with the delivery of a high‑performance culture, supporting functions to deliver against the medium – long-term strategic ambitions. The sector is fast paced and demanding so the successful incumbent will need to be resilient, cope well with ambiguity and be experienced in balancing multiple stakeholders.

The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of people practice to ensure they are well placed to effectively support leaders through periods of change.

The role requires a hands‑on, pragmatic People leader who is comfortable operating in an agile environment and balancing pace with compliance.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic People Partnering

  • Partner with senior leaders across people, finance, commercial, marketing, and service management teams to deliver people solutions aligned to business strategy and objectives.
  • Execute key deliverables within the People Strategy to support functional excellent and execution.
  • Provide trusted, proactive advice on workforce planning, organisational design, succession, and leadership capability.
  • Use people metrics and insight to inform strategic decisions and measure impact.

 

 Employee Relations & Risk Management

  • Lead on all complex / senior level employee relations cases, including performance management, grievances, disciplinaries, absence, FWR and sensitive people issues.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law while applying pragmatic, commercial judgement.
  • Support managers to build confidence and capability in managing performance, engagement, and wellbeing matters.

·       Manage employee relations risk and support consistent, fair decision‑making across the organisation.

 

Change

  • Support leaders through periods of transformation and change, including restructures, role redesign, and consultation processes.
  • Embed change management best practice to support engagement and retention during periods of pace and ambiguity.

 

Performance & Culture

  • Support the delivery and implementation of a revised performance management frameworks.
  • Champion inclusive people practices that support diversity, equity, and belonging.
  • Utilise Willis Towers Watson to review and ensure job levels and gradings are appropriate and identify where there are gaps to the market median salaries.

 

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with People Experience, Talent Acquisition, L&D, and Payroll to deliver a seamless end‑to‑end people service.
  • Act as a role model for People partnering excellence, collaboration, and professional credibility.

 

 

Person Specification

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience as a Senior People Partner or HR Business Partner in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Strong track record of managing complex employee relations cases end‑to‑end.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, growth, or transformation.

 

Essential Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and current HR best practice.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and coaching skills.
  • Confident using people data, insight, and feedback to inform decisions.
  • Commercial mindset

 

 Desirable Criteria

  • Experience supporting remote-first organisations and international teams.
  • Experience working in tech, digital, EdTech, SaaS, or scaling organisations desired but not essential

 

 Qualifications

·       CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent professional experience).

What you'll earn (you won't find "competitive salary” written instead of a figure on our watch!)

£60,000 - £70,000
