People Administration Manager

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced People Administration Manager to lead and develop our People Administration function at ETEL. Reporting to the Head of Recruitment, this role ensures the consistent, accurate and efficient delivery of people-related administrative services across the organisation.

You’ll play a key role in enabling an exceptional colleague experience across the entire employee lifecycle, acting as a central point of coordination for people data, systems, processes and workflows. Leading a small team, you’ll champion service excellence, continuous improvement, confidentiality and alignment with ETEL’s values.

Based at our central offices in Letchworth this role will also involve occasional national travel.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of People Administrators, creating a positive, high‑performance and service‑focused culture
  • Manage workload planning, service coverage and resource allocation during peak periods
  • Oversee the end‑to‑end administration of people processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance with company standards
  • Act as the main point of contact for people administration queries, escalating only when appropriate
  • Process senior contracts, offers and confidential documentation with the highest level of discretion
  • Review, streamline and improve administrative processes to create scalable and efficient ways of working
  • Explore and implement opportunities for automation, digital tools and AI‑enabled solutions in collaboration with Technology teams
  • Ensure people data is accurate, complete and up to date across all systems
  • Produce management information, dashboards and reports for the People function and wider stakeholders
  • Support people‑related projects, including documentation, reporting, tracking actions and governance
  • Process monthly and ad‑hoc invoices relating to people services such as Occupational Health and legal support
  • Ensure all processes meet audit requirements, data protection standards and internal policies

You’ll be a proactive and organised people professional with:

  • Experience leading or coordinating an administration team
  • Background in a people, HR, administration or service delivery environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop others
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • A high level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Confidence working with HR systems, data, digital tools and technology
  • A curious mindset with a passion for process improvement and innovation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships

What you'll earn (you won't find "competitive salary” written instead of a figure on our watch!)

The basic salary will be up to £40,000 depending upon experience.
