Job Description

Salary:  £49,742 a year
Location:  Stoke-on-Trent / Hybrid
Hours per week:  35
Contract type:  Permanent

The role

You will be responsible for designing and delivering learning strategies and frameworks that build employee capability, support career growth, and drive performance, with clear alignment to business goals. You will work closely with Senior Leaders to promote a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of learning, development and training.

What you’ll do:  

  • Lead the design and delivery of inclusive, high-quality learning initiatives aligned to business goals.
  • Develop and implement a clear Learning Strategy to build capability, performance and behaviours.
  • Partner with senior leaders to drive leadership development, organisational change and talent planning.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training, supported by accurate data, reporting and insights.
  • Oversee onboarding, apprenticeships, internal engagement campaigns and L&D budget management.

Who you are: 

  • Professionally qualified in Learning and Development (Level 5) or qualified by significant experience.
  • A people professional with excellent stakeholder management and has the confidence to influence, challenge and negotiate where necessary.
  • A strong communicator, facilitation, presentation and coaching skills.
  • Be commercially aware with a good understanding of how a business works and what drives it forward.
  • Experienced in managing LMS and digital learning platforms.
  • Have proven people management experience and understanding of HR processes.
  • Experienced in managing budgets, expenses and financial processes.
  • Have the ability to analyse data and trends to inform business activity and inform decision making.
  • Experienced in project management, process improvement and delivering change initiatives.
  • A proactive, solution-focused and inspiring leader with a passion for continuous improvement and innovative learning.
