Assistant HR Business Partner

Job Description

The Assistant HR Business Partner (AHRBP) plays a key role within the HRBP team, acting as a central point of contact to support the delivery of effective People advice and services to Directors, managers, and staff.

Working closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), the AHRBP helps to build and maintain strong working relationships, ensuring consistent and high-quality People support across the Commission. 

This role is positioned at the centre of the of the HRBP function, and ensures the team remains visible, proactive, and responsive. The AHRBP collaborates with colleagues across the wider People Team and beyond, contributing to the delivery of professional expertise and excellent service.

Reporting to an HR Business Partner, the post holder must be agile, forward-thinking, and adaptable to the Commission’s evolving priorities. You will be expected to take ownership of casework, contribute to people initiatives from day one, and quickly build credibility with stakeholders.

The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, supporting the identification of solutions to a range of People-related challenges. It is also instrumental in ensuring the accurate interpretation of HR policies and the effective delivery of HR processes, providing reliable support to Directors and managers.

In addition, the post holder will undertake administrative responsibilities, including documenting meetings, maintaining HR records, and supporting wider People initiatives as required.

Please note: This is a part-time, fixed-term role. 

What you'll earn (you won't find "competitive salary” written instead of a figure on our watch!)

£37,690.68. Salary will be pro-rata for part time hours.
