At Fractional Human Resources we’re revolutionising and reimagining how ambitious businesses scale their teams. We help fast-growth start-ups and scale-ups build their people and talent functions by providing the right level of support, exactly when they need it.
This is not your average People role. You’ll be joining us just 10 months into our journey, which means two things:
You’ll help build the business with us.
You need to be super comfortable working in a little bit of structured chaos, change, and helping us figure things out as we go.
We’re looking for a People Operations Exec to join our small, growing fractional HR business.
You’ll be part of a team of three, working closely with a People Lead and co-founder, which means real exposure, real responsibility, and the chance to learn quickly in a supportive environment.
This is an operations-first role with a strong focus on process, systems, and documentation. It’s ideal for someone early in their People/HR career who enjoys structure, detail, and making things work well behind the scenes.
This role is not about giving HR advice but about enabling great People work through strong execution.
Specifically, you’ll:
Supporting end-to-end employee lifecycle processes (offers, contracts, changes, leavers using various HRIS systems)
Managing onboarding and offboarding logistics across multiple client businesses
Preparing and maintaining People documentation and templates on Google and Notion
Supporting day-to-day People Ops activity for the People Lead and co-founder
Building, maintaining, and improving People processes and procedures in Notion
Turning ways of working into clear, usable SOPs
Keeping documentation well-structured and up to date
Spotting gaps or inefficiencies in processes and suggesting improvements
Supporting the People Lead and co-founder with preparation, follow-ups, and admin
Acting as a first point of contact for routine People Ops queries
Managing shared inboxes or task lists
Escalating anything complex, sensitive, or unclear to senior team members
To be clear, this role does not involve:
Employee relations case management
Employment law advice
Leading performance, disciplinary, or grievance processes
Acting as a standalone HR contact for clients
We trust you to manage your hours in the way that works for both you and our clients.
We’re open to this role working either a 4 or 5 day week.
Experience in a People Ops / HR / Operations / Admin role
Hands-on experience working with an HRIS system (essential)
Strong experience building or maintaining processes and documentation
Confidence using Notion to organise information and workflows
Comfortable working across multiple systems (Notion, Google Workspace, HRIS)
Excellent attention to detail and organisation
Able to juggle priorities across multiple clients
Self-starter who works well in a fully remote environment
Comfortable asking questions and escalating when needed
Experience supporting startups, scale-ups, or tech businesses or exposure to a fractional, consultancy, or multi-client environment
A passion to develop a career in the people space
Bonus points if you enjoy writing and would like to contribute to blogs, LinkedIn posts, or People-focused content from time to time
Tools you love
Confident using a range of people systems (HRIS, ATS, etc.).
A genuine fan of tools like Notion, Slack, Loom and Miro
Curious and excited about new tooling especially in the AI space.
You want a neat, structured career ladder with all the boxes ticked.
You prefer one employer, one set of policies, and a clear 9–5 routine.
You need lots of shiny benefits.
You need a team around you day to day.
You get frustrated by change, or want every process already documented.
Salary: £30,000 (based on 5 days, £24,000 for a 4 day week)
We value fairness and transparency. That’s why this role comes with a set salary, not a band. It’s intentional, to remove bias and the stress of negotiating (and to avoid the lingering feeling that someone else might have walked away with a better deal).
You’ll have a salary review each year as we grow. There’s no ‘top of band’ which means your compensation can continue to increase as the business scales and your role evolves.
We are a very young business, with big ambitions. We don’t have a list of fancy benefits right now. What we can offer is:
π Fully remote and flexible working we measure outcomes, not hours.
𧳠Work from anywhere for up to 80 days a year.
π€ 4x annual team meet-ups with our sister business, Fractional Finance.
π Flexibility: 4 or 5 days a week, whatever works best for you.
π Room to grow with us: we see this role evolving into a future Head of People.
π΄ 25 days holiday + 8 flexible bank holidays: take the bank hols whenever it suits you.
β€οΈπ©Ή Private Medical Insurance which includes £400 towards dental and £200 towards optical per year
