HR Business Partner – Europe

Job Description

Shape people outcomes across Europe. Support change that matters. Help us do things differently.

We are looking for an experienced, French-speaking Human Resources Business Partner to provide practical, trusted and commercially focused HR support across our European operations. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will partner with leaders and employees throughout the employee lifecycle, navigate complex employee relations matters and play an important role in organisational change, acquisitions and business integrations.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on HR partnering with cross-border impact in a global, matrixed organisation. You will translate employment requirements into clear, workable solutions while building trusted relationships and helping leaders make confident people decisions.

What you will do

  • Partner with leaders and employees across Europe, providing pragmatic advice on employee relations, performance, leave, employment conditions, policies and the wider employee lifecycle.
  • Manage investigations, grievances, disciplinary and performance matters, employee exits and consultation processes with consistency, respect and sound judgement.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions and integrations through people-related due diligence, integration planning and post-transaction implementation.
  • Advise on European and country-specific employment legislation, consultation obligations and workforce change, turning complex requirements into clear recommendations.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, coach leaders and maintain transparent communication throughout HR initiatives and change programmes.
  • Help embed HR frameworks, processes, systems and ways of working, including onboarding and training for employees and leaders.

 What you will bring

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
  • At least five years’ experience in an HR advisory or business partnering role.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, acquisitions or integrations in a European context, including exposure to people-related due diligence and post-integration activity.
  • Sound working knowledge of European employment legislation and employee consultation requirements, with a particular focus on Luxembourg and Germany
  • Fluent English and native-level French and effective communication skills across international and matrixed environments. Additional European language an advantage
  • Strong organisation, accountability and follow-through, with the ability to manage competing priorities across jurisdictions.
  • Experience in the mining or resources sector, working with works councils, unions or employee representative groups, or delivering onboarding and HR training would be advantageous.
