HR Project & Workday Specialist

Job Description

Location: Basingstoke or Manchester

Reporting to: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Project & Workday Specialist to support the CHRO in delivering organisation-wide HR initiatives, with a strong focus on Workday implementation and optimisation. This role will play a critical part in driving transformation across the business, working collaboratively across functions and multiple European locations. The successful candidate will combine strong technical Workday expertise with the ability to contribute to broader HR and business projects, while ensuring effective ongoing system support through our AMS (Application Management Services) model.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Implementation & Management

·       Support and contribute to the end-to-end Workday implementation lifecycle, including design, build, testing, and deployment

·       Provide hands-on configuration and build expertise within Workday modules

·       Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure successful delivery

·       Support post-implementation optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives

·       Troubleshoot system issues and provide user support where required

AMS Interface & Ticket Management

·       Act as the primary liaison between the business and AMS support provider

·       Manage and prioritise Workday-related tickets, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with   business needs

·       Monitor ticket queues, track SLAs, and escalate issues where necessary

·       Ensure clear documentation, categorisation, and reporting of incidents, service requests, and enhancements

·       Work with AMS partners to support defect resolution, minor enhancements, and system improvements

·       Identify recurring issues and drive root cause analysis and long-term fixes

Project Support

·       Assist the CHRO in delivering organisation-wide HR and business transformation projects

·       Coordinate and track project activities, timelines, and deliverables

·       Prepare project documentation, reports, and updates for senior stakeholders

·       Support change management and communication activities associated with projects

Cross-Regional Collaboration

·       Work effectively across European markets, ensuring alignment and consideration of local requirements

·       Engage with stakeholders across different countries to support system adoption and project delivery

General HR & Business Support

·       Provide support on ad hoc and minor HR projects as required

·       Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives across HR

Skills & Experience

Essential

·       Proven experience in Workday implementation, including system build/configuration

·       Hands-on experience supporting HRIS or Workday-related projects

·       Experience working with AMS models and ticket management processes

·       Experience working in a medium-sized business environment

·       Demonstrated ability to deliver projects across multiple European countries

·       Strong project coordination and organisational skills

·       Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities

Desirable

·       French language skills (speaking and/or writing)

·       Experience supporting broader HR transformation programmes

£60,000
