This is a unique, varied opportunity where you will:
- Act as the lead people partner for a portfolio of businesses / stakeholders
- Support other businesses in a secondary or advisory capacity where additional resources or expertise is needed
- Work across multiple businesses, balancing strategic input with hands-on delivery
- No two days will be the same. You’ll be switching between big-picture thinking and rolling up your sleeves to deliver practical HR solutions — all while building strong relationships.
What You’ll Be Doing
Business Partnership
- Build trusted relationships as the primary lead for allocated businesses
- Support additional businesses with tailored advice and guidance
- Really get to know each business, understanding its people, culture, and commercial goals
Strategic HR
- Provide commercially focused advice to business leaders
- Support organisational design, workforce planning, and change initiatives
- Lead on employee engagement, performance, and cultural development
- Handle complex employee relations matters with confidence and commercial acumen
Operational & Hands-On HR
You’ll deliver full lifecycle HR support, including:
- Recruitment and onboarding
- Policy development and implementation
- Performance and absence management
- Employee relations casework
- Offboarding processes
You’ll also:
- Maintain compliant HR documentation and records
- Support HR systems, reporting, and processes
Networking & Growth
- Represent 1850 at networking events and forums
- Build relationships that strengthen our brand, network and create opportunities to support more businesses
- Play a role in our continued growth

Dependant on experience between £40,000 and £50,000 FTE
