Despite our size, we've retained the pace, pragmatism and entrepreneurial spirit that have been part of our business for generations. We're not a large corporate organisation. Decisions are made quickly, relationships matter and people are trusted to get on with the job.
We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our HR team and become a trusted partner to managers across the Group.
This is a broad and varied role combining employee relations, management coaching, training design & delivery and people projects. You'll spend time out in the business, supporting managers, resolving people issues and helping develop management capability across a diverse operational workforce.

Ward is one of the UK’s leading independent metal recycling and waste management businesses, with a proud family heritage dating back to 1940. From our origins in ferrous metal recycling in Woodville, near Burton-on-Trent, we have grown into a fourth-generation family business with national reach, operating from 12 sites across the UK.
Today, Ward has a turnover in excess of £300 million, employs more than 500 people and operates a modern fleet of over 150 vehicles. The business is now widely considered to be the third largest metal recycling company in the UK, with a significant and growing presence in the waste management sector.
Despite our growth, Ward remains a family-run business with strong values, long-term thinking and a commitment to doing things the right way. Sustainability, safety, service and operational excellence are at the heart of what we do, and our teams play an important role in helping customers reduce waste, recover more materials and meet their environmental goals.
Ward is an ambitious, forward-thinking business with over 85 years of experience, a strong reputation in the recycling and waste sector, and clear plans for continued investment and growth.
