We’re looking for a hands-on HR Operations Specialist to help stabilise, strengthen, and improve our day-to-day HR function. Working closely with the Head of HR, you’ll play a key role in getting the fundamentals right, bringing structure, consistency, and efficiency to how we support our people.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in evolving environments and enjoys turning ambiguity into clear, effective processes. You’ll be a trusted operational partner to managers, ensuring HR is reliable, compliant, and well-organised.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations
- Review current HR practices to identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies
- Implement clear and consistent processes across the employee lifecycle
- Help transition HR from reactive to proactive service delivery
- Take ownership of improving and embedding strong HR foundations
HR Administration & Lifecycle Management
- Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, changes, leavers)
- Maintain accurate employee records across systems and files
- Produce contracts, letters, and core HR documentation
- Support the review and rollout of HR policies and procedures
- Ensure consistent application of UK employment law fundamentals
- Maintain compliance records (right-to-work, probation, absence)
- Proactively flag risks or compliance concerns
Systems, Data & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain HR systems and improve data accuracy
- Produce regular reports (absence, turnover, headcount)
- Identify and implement improvements to processes and workflows
- Help build scalable, future-ready HR operations
About You
Essential
- Experience in an HR operations, officer, or advisory role
- Strong understanding of UK employment law fundamentals
- Proven ability to organise, prioritise, and improve processes
- Confident communicator, able to support and challenge managers
- High attention to detail and discretion with sensitive information
Desirable
- CIPD Level 3 or 5 (or working towards)
- Experience improving or resetting HR processes
- Comfortable working in a developing or changing environment
Due to the hands on nature of the role you will required to be in the office 4 days with 1 day at home.
