YMCA Fairthorne group

Charity Introduction

YMCA Fairthorne Group is a community-based charity with a serious ambition to grow our already successful social enterprise model. Our purpose is to partner with communities so that all children, young people and families can belong, contribute and thrive.  We achieve this through bringing people of all backgrounds and abilities together in YMCA places and delivering effective programmes.

We operate throughout Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Southampton from over 13 venues. Our programmes include 6 early years settings, Day camps, community activities and housing for young people and families experiencing homelessness.

We employ c300 permanent staff across our Early Years, Youth Services, Community and Central Support teams and also have a seasonal workforce recruited to support our activity centre over the summer. Alongside our paid workforce, we also have c150 volunteers who support across all areas of the charity.

YMCA Fairthorne Group exists to ensure that:

Children and young people are empowered to realise their potential. (Our Vision) and we will achieve this through partnering with communities so that all children, young people, and families can belong, contribute and thrive. Under 5's will have the very best start in life at our early years settings. Children will develop essential social, emotional, and practical skills through our outdoor activities. Young people will realise their potential from foundations set in our supportive housing and youth work. (Our Mission)
